Due to illness, the Eagle House SAE had to be relocated, and St. Michael's School kindly agreed at short notice to host the event in addition to their own SAE to be held in March.
Unsurprisingly, numbers were significantly down on previous years, but 12 players was enough to hold a worthwhile tournament. In fact, with no player graded below 550, the overall standard of play was very high. William Foo looked to be on course for another perfect 6/6 until he was beaten by George Wilks in the final round, leading to a first place tie with Maximillian Papachristos. A blitz match decided the trophy in William Foo's favour (his fifth SAE trophy of the season), with George Wilks in third following his last round victory.
With no players at all on low grades, it was decided to award the minor trophy to the highest placed player from the lowest 6 graded entrants, and here Peter Robinson snatched the trophy in the final round just ahead of his brother Thomas Robinson and Jonathan Cope.
